Fishing Rules & Regulations
The use of customer's own motors, nets & bass bags is no longer permitted. This is due to the risk of transferable diseases coming into Butterstone Loch.
Fly fishing only with conventional fly fishing tackle.
The use of any form of natural bait or artificial spinner is strictly prohibited including Snakes and Snake derivatives.
When fishing Catch and Release barbless hooks must be used and strictly No Boobies.
No fish finders are to be used on the loch.
No trolling.
The use of any form of ground bait is strictly prohibited.
Six fish limit per angler
(10 inch minimum takeable size)
All fish killed must be weighed and recorded.
No litter to be left anywhere except in the waste bins provided.
Especially nylon waste.
Booking cancellations require 7 days notice of cancellation.
Failure to adhere with this will incur a full 2 man boat penalty charge, unless we manage to re-let the boat.
We suggests that anglers wear Lifejackets/ Buoyancy Aids while out on the Loch.
We reserves the right to check anglers' bags and equipment-failure to comply will result in an instant ban.

Pike Fishing Rules
Fishing methods are to be restricted to dead baiting and spinning only.
No live baiting is permitted.
For dead baits only sea fish baits may be used.
For spinning baits our minimum size permitted is 6 inches.
An unhooking mat must be used and all fish should be returned.
Barbless hooks to be used wherever possible.
No shore fishing is permitted
All fishing must be done from the boats.
