Over Cardney Loch (Specimen Fish)
Fishing starts on the 1st of May and closes in October
In recent years the small hill loch has been for the exclusive use of the David Hendry family and guests. For the last seven years the loch has been stocked with some very large rainbow and brown trout, the record for a rainbow being a hefty 24lb 4oz which was caught by James Mcilvean a friend of the family. Not only does he hold the record for largest rainbow trout he also caught the largest brownie weighing in at 16lb 8oz. Fish stock range from 5lb - 25lb with numerous 10 - 20lb fish being caught years after introduction to the loch. Fishing is exclusive with a limit of 3 rods per day both boat and bank are available.
There is one boat available on the loch with a uniformed and experienced ghillie who will be with you to give assistance all day. Lunch will be provided at Over Cardney lodge catering up to six people allowing partners to join you during the day. You are welcome to bring more people along at an extra cost. It is recommended that you do not fish with a breaking strain of less than 8lb as the fish caught are not likely to be under 5lb and more than likely fish into the double figures will be bitting throughout the day.
